High school sports teams do their best do raise money through inventive activities. The best way to do that is through sharing the sport they love. The Wilsonville High School cross country team hosts its Night Meet fundraiser on the last Friday of Summer break, which this year falls on Friday, August 25. The evening starts with an open division 3k (1.86M) run, which is open to non-high school runners of any age. Registration for the open 3k starts at 5pm at the main gate and closes at 6:15pm to allow an on-time start of the meet at 6:30pm. (Wilsonville High School reserves the right to delay the start of the meet if the heat index is too high to safely start.) The course of the 3k is all within the HS sports complex: Runners start on the track, leave the track and circle around the soccer/baseball fields, then returning back onto the running track and finishing the race with a sprint down the football field towards the finish and the race clock. (Please do not wear racing spikes.) The entire course can be viewed from the top of the grandstand, and athletes will be running under the lights. After the open division finishes, the high school athletes will run their races in their many age/gender divisions, so stick around and cheer for the youth athletes.

Every year, the Tualatin High School cross country team hosts the Tualatin Invite cross country meet, and part of this meet is also an Open 5,000m division that is open to the community. This year, the Tualatin Invite Community 5k takes place on Saturday, September 9th with an 8:30am start time. Cost for the run is just $5; you can register on the morning of the race or at RunSignup. The course runs mainly on gravel paths around the high school. After you complete your 5k, stick around and cheer on the high school athletes in their 3k (novice) and 5k (JV and varsity) races.
