Mid-Valley Small Race Previews: Firecracker 5k (Harrisburg) & Old Time Fun Run/Walk (Stayton)

The Harrisburg Firecracker 5k and Kids 400 meter is happening again this year on July 1st and is sponsored by Tri-County Insurance Group. It’s an Eclectic Edge chip-timed event and all proceeds are put towards the cost of the town’s fireworks display!

Trophies will be given to the fastest male and female finishers and also to the oldest participant! Medals will be given to the age division winners as well.


When: Saturday, July 1st at 9 AM (400m starts after 5k ends)
Where: Harrisburg High School Track | 400 S 9th St Harrisburg, OR
Registration: Online here or on race day from 7:30 – 8:20 am
Price: 5k: $20 before 6/23 | 400m: $10 by 6/23 (add $5 for each starting 6/24)
Registration includes: Event shirt, chip timing, participant ribbons, winner awards, pre/post race festivities
Packet Pickup: Thurs, 6/29 and Fri, 6/30 at the start line from 5-7pm or race day from 7:30-8:20 am

The most patriotically dressed participant wins a prize in this year’s Stayton Fun Run event! This annual 4th of July event features a 3k walk/run, 5k trail run, and 10k trail run.

Once the race is over, stick around Stayton and enjoy a kids parade, the Grand Parade, a community dinner, live bands, a variety show, food booths, and, of course, a fireworks display!


When: Tuesday, July 4th at 9 AM (race day registration & packet pickup begins at 8 am)
