Fabulous February: Drink more water in general

Today’s tip is from your mom: Drink lots of water.

You’ve heard it a million times, but it’s true … If you think you’re hungry, you should drink a glass of water and wait 20 minutes to see if you were actually hungry in the first place (Kelly’s “rule” is to think about whether you could eat a whole apple).

It’s extra important to drink water after a workout or a run so you can replenish your fluids. In the winter, a lot of people find this difficult because we don’t feel as thirsty when there’s no sunshine outside, especially with as much as it rains in the Pacific Northwest.

This healthy tip is honestly one that I have trouble following in my own life. My hydration has gotten worse since quitting my office job because I am always on the go and I need to do a better job of bringing a water bottle wherever I go. I just bought a new water bottle that has measurements for times of the day written on the side so I can physically see when I need to drink and how much. Seeing the visual reminder of how far I’ve come and how far I have to go will help me out and maybe something like this would work for you as well.

Editor’s note: I love this one from the Esty shop “JLCreations4You” based in the U.S.
