I love it when a run is part of a bigger festival or celebration. Charlie’s Chocolate 5k Run/Walk takes place on Sunday, March 5th during the Oregon Chocolate Festival at the Ashland Hills Hotel & Suites in Ashland OR. There will be delicious prizes along the way, including a Charlie’s Chocolate Run Wonka Bar, and of course there will be a chance to win a golden ticket. You are also encouraged to dress up as your favorite Charlie and the Chocolate Factory character.
The race starts and ends in front of the Ashland Hills Hotel. The first half mile of the course will take you around the hotel grounds before heading for a one mile out and back on Main St. You’ll finish back at the hotel, including a victory lap circling the hotel building itself.
Registration cost for the 5k is an affordable $25. Admission to the Chocolate Festival costs $20 per day, or $30 for a two day pass (for Saturday and Sunday). You can save some money by bundling it with your 5k registration by getting 5k + 1day for $40 or 5k+2day for $50.
The Oregon Chocolate Festival is partnered with the Children’s Miracle Network and will provide 10% of the festival proceeds in 2017 to the Asante’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) located at the Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center.
