Race Preview: Aurora Colony Days 5k Run/Walk & Kids 1k Fun Run – 8/13/2016 (Aurora, OR)

Aurora Colony Days is coming up next month, and so is their Aurora Colony Days 5k Run/Walk and Kids 1k Fun Run! While I haven’t had the chance to visit Aurora yet, I’ve heard the town is full of small-town charm and history, and Aurora Colony Days sounds like the perfect time to do it. Last year’s Colony Days 5k event brought out about 75 adults, including Run Oregon’s Matt (read his recap of the 2015 race here!)

This will be the fifth year for this small town race has a friendly vibe, and the fast, well-marked course makes it great for attempting a PR. Proceeds from the race go back to Historic Aurora (the race starts and ends at the Old Aurora Colony Museum). Race entry includes a t-shirt if you’re registered prior to race day. Bring the whole family–in addition to the chip-timed 5k, there’s a 1k kids fun run also. And be sure to check out all of the other fun events going on as part of Aurora Colony Days–a vintage street fair, farmers market, art show, parade, concert, and more!
