Handana is a high performance fashionable sweatband worn on the hand to wipe sweat, snot, or whatever you got!
Exercise is great, and sweating is healthy, but sweat that drips into your eyes is quite annoying. In the 80’s we wore headbands around the head and sweatbands around our wrists, then running ballcaps and visors replaced the headband. And now the Handana is a great successor for the sweatband on the wrist. With its wrap-around-the-hand design, it is convenient for wiping anything from anywhere your hand can reach while being out of the way for all your activities. It will even go over cycling gloves or any warm layers you may wear in cold weather. Handanas are machine washable.
Handana has been around for almost three years and is sold online and in a handful of stores. This Kickstarter campaign will assist in streamlining production and expanding distribution.

What a neat experience, and a ‘handy’ item to have! In the past, I had used my shoulders to wipe the sweat that my hats did not catch, or my hand (which sometimes led to stinging eyes). Eventually I started bringing a bandana, but they are not pretty to look at in pictures. Putting this on, I thought it would take some getting used to, but it did not. It was not hard at all to get used and in no time I was using it to wipe sweat off quickly, without the wet or icky factor. In addition to that, It was comfy, soft, and pretty.
They are pretty simple to use – you put it on and go. They slip on like a glove quickly and can be worn on either hand The fabric is Supplex, a nylon fabric made to feel like cotton. It wicks away the moisture and dries quicker than cotton. I wondered how it would deal with heat, but reviews show that ultra marathoners love it, as well as several from Texas, tested in the highs over 100 degree weather with positive outcomes. It comes in a variety of great colors as well as sizes for men, women, teens, and kids.
[During a recent run] my Handana got very sweaty, and I could see the wet areas, but never once felt uncomfortable, hot, or wet. I have washed it three times, and it washes fast without shrinking. The instructions say cold water and hand dry. Once I forgot and dried it, and it’s still good to go.
One runner I spoke with uses the inside for wiping his nose, and the outside for his eyes and brows. I never used it for my nose, but I imagine as the winter weather comes closer, and the cold weather hits me, I will be! I have not had a chance to try it in rain, but I am hoping it does well! All and all, I loved this product! The only downside is getting asked by several people “what happened to your hand” but it’s a small price to pay for such a nifty product!
