Looking for something adventurous to do this weekend? You just might have found it. Check out the Snow Warriors 5k at the Onpoint WinterFest this Sunday. What exactly do you have to do to call yourself a Snow Warrior? Let’s just say it involves fire, barbed wire and ice cold water for starters.
Participants will run a 2.5k loop twice on an obstacle course that weaves throughout the Old Mill and Deschutes Brewery property adjacent to Oregon WinterFest. Make sure to wear clothes you can get dirty in, and for added fun come dressed in costume to participate in the pre-race costume contest.
For the 10 and under crowd, there’s the Little Snow Warrior Dash, an age appropriate alternative to the challenge of the main event.
After the race make your way to The Growler Guys Bent Lounge where all finishers will receive a drink coupon. Alcohol free beverages are available for the Junior Warriors.
Post-race festivities include prizes in the following categories:
- Fastest Warrior and Warrior Princess
- Best Dressed Warrior and Warrior Princess
- Best Dressed Warrior Duo
- Obstacle Dominator/ Dominatrix
- Most Fearless Warrior or Warrior Princess
The $50.00 entry fee may seem steep but it includes admission to all three days of Winterfest, which makes it a bargain. All you have to do is print your proof of registration and take it to the North Entrance of WinterFest to pick up your pass for the weekend. The entry fee for the Little Snow Warrior Dash is only $5.00.
