If you’re looking for a scenic, challenging way to get in your long run on March 9th, consider signing up for the Race to the Cape, an “approximately” 10 mile fun run near Tillamook put on by some amazing people at Ascherl Industries.
Ascherl Industries puts on a number of races as part of the Trail Challenge Series – a group of runs on beautiful trails with amazing views. Just check out the course map if you need convincing!
The Race to the Cape starts at 10a from Cape Lookout State Park and is an out-and-back route along North Trail and Cape Trail. There will be one water station that participants will pass twice.
Despite being called a Fun Run, you can race it. This is a trail race, so expect some challenges above and beyond a road run; organizers suggest you bring your camera though. My husband recently ran this trail and agrees – “The views are amazing,” he says, adding that he saw a whale while out on his run.
Participation is limited to only 50 participants – so sign up early to make sure your spot is reserved! All finishers will receive medals.
