Experience One of Oregon’s Most Scenic Races at the 2026 Painted Hills Half Marathon

It doesn’t get much more beautiful in Oregon than the Painted Hills, and the 2026 Painted Hills Half/10k/5k is coming up on September 5th. This race will roam through some truly stunning scenery and along the roads of the remote and historic town of Mitchell.

See our 2019 Recap HERE!

Bib pickup for the race will be at 7:00AM on race morning at the Mitchell gym which shares a parking lot with the Michell City Hall. There is a shuttle that will take you from the gym out to the course. There is a staggered start, and the three races all start from different points.

The shuttle will first drive out to the farthest point to drop off half marathoners at the Painted Hills Unit of the John Day National Monument. Then the shuttle will drive the 10k participants to their start, and finally they will drop off the 5k runners off at their starting point. The half starts at 8:00AM, the 10k starts at 8:15AM, and the 5k starts at 8:30AM.

The course is challenging, with about 800 feet of elevation for the half and 600 feet for the 10k. Expect some gravel and a rugged course. There will be water and support along the course.

You must register by August 18th to guarantee your race shirt, so why not just sign up now?
