If you’re looking for a fun event to start the season, check out the 2nd Annual Move for Mental Health 5K & 1K Fun Run at the HMT Complex in Beaverton on Sunday, May 3rd.

Organized by Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation District, this event is a great way to connect with the community, get some exercise, and promote positive well-being for the whole family. A relaxed, no-pressure event for you to take at your own pace and have some fun at the same time. The 5K will start at 9:45AM, preceded by a dynamic warm-up with one of their certified personal trainers.
The mostly flat course starts near the baseball fields and loops around the Howard M. Terpenning Complex campus twice. The 5K runs by the tennis center, soccer fields, skate park, athletic center, and the aquatic center, giving participants an opportunity to see just a few of the things that Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation District has to offer. There will be plenty of volunteers along the course to cheer you on!
Plan to stick around after the event to visit with some great community partners. They’ll have the Cedar Mill Library, Quimson Behavioral Health, My Fit Foods, and more. Don’t think they forgot about the kiddos! They will have activities and games out for your family to enjoy during and after the event.
Kids will receive a ribbon and goodie bag at the finish line and adults will get a commemorative coaster, sticker, and more. Day of registration is available, but keep in mind this event sold out last year, so make sure to secure your spot by registering online or popping into your closest center.
