Strava Segment & Running Meme of the Week: Stickmen Run Downhill

For the past few months, we’ve been nurturing a little baby group run from the Stickmen Brewery at 19475 SW 118th Ave in Tualatin. The run is a 5k, but in the summer we have a 5-mile version, and after the run we hang around and get a beer. Sometimes there’s just 2 of us, sometimes as many as 5 people have come to run with us. But even if you can’t make it to this run (which is on Friday nights at 5:15p), you may like this segment. This area of Tualatin is pretty quiet — especially on weekends — and can easily add miles to a Cook Park/Tualatin Community Park run.

The Stickmen Run Downhill is 0.4 miles on a stretch where you cross no roads or driveways, so you can really haul if you want to. It starts on the south side of Leveton Drive on SW 124th and runs to the north side of SW Herman Road. It’s a gentle downhill that you may not even notice, but it’s a really fun section. Normally, I’d post the course leaders, but since I just created this segment, I’m the only person on the board … and I know for a fact that’s not accurate. So … run it and see how you do!

We started the Run Oregon blog in February 2007, because felt like running in Oregon and SW Washington deserved more positive coverage. We also wanted to level the playing field so that small, non-profit races could compete with big events; and to support local race organizers.
