Although the full heat of summer is still shining down on us, it isn’t too early to get your fall race schedule all set up. In fact, when there’s 90-degree weather in the forecast, that is the PERFECT time to think and plan (and hope) for cooler autumn days.
One race that you should put on your list of possibilities is Three Sisters Skyline, which has 50K and half marathon course options. Both races start with a shuttle ride to the starting line, with half marathon participants enjoying a point-to-point net downhill back to their finish line. Dogs are welcome for the half event (as long as the runner and furball finds their own transportation to the starting line).
The 50K heads into the Three Sisters Wilderness. Racers will start with a steady climb for the first 10 miles. Three aid stations are along the course to offer emotional and caloric support. The overall course is a net downhill, offering PR opportunities for finishers.
All finishers earn a medal; top three females and males for each race earn additional prizes from race sponsors. Runners and volunteers will all get to celebrate at the burrito bar with a celebratory beer.
