Eyes on the Prize at the MLK Dream Run in NoPo

The MLK Dream Run is back in the North Portland streets this upcoming September 16th and 17th. The event features a 15k, 10k, and 5k.  I ran this event in 2014 and really appreciated a lot about it.

The course was super unique and took on some historical North Portland neighborhoods and the atmosphere and pre/post-race festivities were on point. Runners will get to experience cool neighborhoods like Mississippi and the artistic Alberta Arts neighborhood, run past beautiful Irving and Peninsula Parks, and navigate a number of cool roads that aren’t seen really in any other race.

The weekend kicks off with a huge celebration on September 16th. There are no official races this day, but its a great opportunity to pick up your packet and enjoy live entertainment, food, drinks, and our Soul-Fun vendor market. You could even win a raffle of a round trip ticket on Alaska Airlines.

It also benefits the Youth Entrepreneurship Program (ages 16 -24) – teaching professional development, expanding business skill set, and operating a successful business.
