Tracksmith from Head to Toe

There was a time when Tracksmith was a small, “boutique” running apparel company – with a small yet loyal following. They made New England-inspired items that seemed to bridge the gap between historical time periods of running with a modernized feel and performance-forward.

In fact, their name itself even showcases this:

“TRACK” is a symbol of commitment to training and racing, while “SMITH” represents dedication to a specialized craft – an obsession with quality and function.

Spring is (supposedly) here now in Oregon and Tracksmith has some great new items as a part of their Spring ’23 collection.

Session Long Sleeve

In a seemingly never ending winter here in the PNW, it’s always smart to invest in long sleeve tops. I have been wearing this top – an exceptional piece of running apparel that is both comfortable and stylish. Made with a 84% Polyester, 16% Spandex blend this shirt is breathable and moisture-wicking, which helps keep you cool and dry during intense workouts. That antimicrobial stretch knit features a ton of tiny holes that encourage heat and moisture release.

The fabric is also soft to the touch and has a slight stretch to it, which allows for a comfortable and natural range of motion. It has a relaxed fit that is not too tight or too loose, making it perfect for layering or wearing on its own. However, I typically recommend sizing up in Tracksmith gear if you feel you fall somewhere between sizes.

Tracksmith knows style, and this has their typical understated flair to it. There are two colors available – navy and ivory – and aside from small logos near the hem and the wrist, there’s not really an additional identifiable characteristic. This is a top that seems to want you to focus on the run ahead and not on anything extemporaneous.

Overall, the Tracksmith Session Long Sleeve is a high-quality shirt that is perfect for runners looking for a comfortable and functional piece of apparel.

Trackhouse Midweight Pants

These are an excellent choice for runners seeking a comfortable and versatile pair of pants for their training in cold temps. Made with a soft cotton blend (74% Cotton, 26% Polyester French Terry w/ carbonized peach), these pants offer a soft and stretchy fit that moves with your body. They fit tighter to the body but definitely aren’t the same feeling as a pair of joggers. There is enough room to move around (or lounge around) in for sure. Additionally, the waistband has a drawstring closure, which ensures a secure fit without being too tight.

I have been wearing these as a casual pair of pants in these colder winter months, but they are absolutely constructed for running. To be honest, I think they are an amazing warm-up / cool-down pair. I have been wearing these during my pre-run routine and they keep me quite warm. Then, I love slipping these on afterwards. They aren’t as bulky and thick as many sweatpants are and should be able to be functional as the weather (hopefully…) changes for the warmer.

Both men’s and women’s versions have around 4 colors that all within the blue/grey/black color scheme. However, Tracksmith just released a “Latte” color that was only available to women and I love it. It’s a yellow/brown version that is a little different without being overboard. There should be something for any runner’s style out there.

Overall, if you’re looking for a comfortable and versatile pair of pants that can handle your daily runs, the Tracksmith Trackhouse Midweight Pants are an excellent option.
