The 5th annual Gresham Lilac Run will be held on Earth Day this year – April 22nd. This event, brought to you by Unitus Community Credit Union, includes a 5K, 10K and 1/2 marathon and will start with the planting of lilacs at the trailhead of Main City Park. All courses start at the park and run through historic downtown Gresham and on the city’s scenic trails. Course maps can be found here.
The 2023 race will benefit Thimbleberry Collaborative Farm. Funds will allow Thimbleberry to provide access to agricultural education through workshops and field trips for kids in the Gresham Barlow School District, with hopes to expand to more districts in East County.
All participants will receive a finisher medal and the top male and female for each distance will receive a live lilac plant. All runners will have tags on the bottom of their bibs that they can use towards post-race Migration Brewing beer for those 21+ or a warmup coffee from Country Coffee Hitched Up, and a pancake breakfast from the Chris Cakes NW team.
A FREE Little Lilac Run will also be held for kids aged 12 and under. It will be a 2 loop 400 meter dash on the Springwater Corridor. Please email LilacRun@GreshamOregon.gov with your child’s name and age to register for this event.
