My Muddy Valentine 5K is all new for 2023! With a new location at The Plumper Pumpkin Patch and new obstacles designed by local OCR great Jeremy Kaufman, this muddy “romantic” winter obstacle course run is shaping up to be epic!
Yes, February is a crazy time for an obstacle race in Portland, but every time I’ve done this in the past, it was well worth it. You are guaranteed to get mud in your shoes and perhaps even your shorts, but don’t worry – there are showers available to rinse off the filth before you climb back in your car. And speaking of cars, definitely carpool if you can for this race as parking is limited and parking passes must be purchased to avoid street parking.
Whether you are a veteran OCR racer or a newbie, Terrapin Events’ My Muddy Valentine is for you. All skill levels are welcome and an obstacle may be bypassed if you don’t feel you are able to complete it. But, I recommend you try all the obstacles. You just might surprise yourself! I’m betting you’ll have a ton of fun and feel pretty good about challenging yourself if you try something new. Expect obstacles that involve balance, climbing, crawling, carrying, and conquering mud in a variety of ways.
As this is a Valentine’s event, you can register solo or as a couple if you have someone willing to crawl in the mud with you. Afterwards, enjoy a complimentary beer and after party. Changing tents and hot (but open) showers are available too. While I haven’t been to the new venue, I highly recommend this event for something a little different this Valentine’s weekend.
