Point-to-point courses are my favorite kind because they leave me with no other option than forward.
Best Damn Run, put on by Oregon Road Runners Club, gives participants that point-to-point motivation and adds on a lovely course alongside the Clackamas River. Runners and walkers (ORRC is the best for including all paces) are bussed to the starting line at North Fork Lake with the finish line waiting in Estacada. And at that finish line is a beautiful medal, an awards ceremony with bonus raffle prizes, and any drop bags left at the starting line.
Come run or walk the Best Dam Run! This point-to-point course features views of pristine waters, shading forests, interesting geology and sometimes, bald eagles, osprey and colorful waterfowl.
The race is limited to only 750 participants to ensure everyone can get bussed to the start line between 8:30 and 9am. Walkers hit the road at 9:30am with Runners taking off 15 minutes later.
