It’s Warm Outside and Outdoor Research’s new Argon Tee is Here

After a long and wet Spring, it’s finally time for short-sleeved outdoor running tops. We recently checked out the new Argon Tee from Outdoor Research.

Reviewing shirts aren’t always the easiest because, unless it’s just trash, it’s usually pretty hard to mess up. This new tee is DEFINITELY not garbage and Outdoor Research really does a great job with this top so we want to highlight a few unique pieces to it.

First and foremost, the fit is nice. For the Men’s Large, there was a little bit of roominess to it (just a tad) that allowed for a nice sense of comfort without restriction. It is soft and definitely durable enough to hold up to running wear and tear. It’s not the most lightweight running shirt in the world, but does a very admirable job and can easily crossover into areas like hiking and other outdoor activities.

For the women’s, the shape and cut were great: longer in the back and front (ideal for when you’re wearing a pack and have a bit of riding up), but tapered on the sides to cut down any bulk or bunching with a flatlock seam at the bottom. It’s fast-drying without getting crusty and oh, comes in 4 colors to match whatever bottoms you’re rocking! And although we’re still in the throes of summer, these tops also come in a long-sleeve version for those fall training runs and races.

There is also some great tech to it that makes it an obvious choice for runners – designed to “keep you cool, dry, and odor-free throughout all four seasons with a powerful blend of technologies”. That tech is OR’s AirVent which includes sweat-wicking materials, UPF30, and their ActiveFresh to keep you from smelling overly disgusting.

The construction of the shirt is really icing on the cake. It is made from 83% recycled materials – a huge plus and makes it as good on the environment as it is on your body.
