The Bridge of the Goddess 2022 starts on the Bridge of Gods in Cascade Locks on Saturday, September 17th. This Half Marathon, 10k & 5k is a challenging out and back course along the Historic Columbia River Highway Trail with waterfalls, ferns and wildflowers to take in. With plenty of aid stations along the way and safe from traffic, the historic trail hugs the cliffs of the Columbia River Gorge and includes spectacular views. Plan on some hills, some stairs and a sense of adventure with this event. All finishers will receive a Bridge of the Goddess technical race shirt, a personalized race bib, a Goddess Wine Glass, lunch, a no host beer/cider garden, and (of course!) the coveted finisher’s medal.
The run begins at 8am, but plan to arrive by 6:45am and carpool, if possible, since parking will be limited. The bridge closes at 7:15am to prepare for this unique opportunity. Add to the fun and dress up like a Goddess. The best Goddess costume will win a $100 gift card to Portland Running Company.
Stick around for the post-race after party. Marine Park has a playground and is very family-friendly. There will be food, beer (don’t forget your ID!) and some music waiting at Marine Park for the finishers to celebrate. Anyone who has participated in a Run with Paula event knows they keep the standard high. The courses are fun, the aid stations are well-planned and no details are overlooked in the organizing. A great fall run with a gorgeous setting and a start on the Bridge of the Gods, its sure to be memorable.
Registration is limited, so don’t delay. The half marathon is $85, the 10k is $65, and the 5k is $55 this year. There will be a few packet pickup options (listed below) and you can pick up for other runners or have you packet mailed for $10. (please note packets will ship two weeks before, so plan accordingly.)
The Bridge of the Goddess is chip timed and welcomes all levels from walkers through elites. Make it a morning with girlfriends or just take some time for yourself on the trail and embrace your inner Goddess. The views will be worth the drive, the course will be worth getting up early and the opportunity to start a run on the Bridge of the Gods will make for some fun conversation.
