It’s time to get your friends together for a super fun 5K Obstacle Course Race! Rugged Maniac is an awesome mix of challenging obstacles, mud, giant inflatables, and just plain fun. I can honestly say that I cannot wait for July 2nd!
I have participated in several Rugged Maniac events in the past with friends and we had a blast! The 5K course is filled with a variety of obstacles of varying levels of difficulty. Some can be easily conquered, while others may require a bit of skill and perhaps some assistance or maybe even a few tries. If you are worried about your ability to conquer all the obstacles – don’t! You can have help on the obstacles and you are not penalized if you are unable to complete some of the challenges.

This year’s event promises “25+ obstacles consisting of unlimited mud, giant inflatables, epic fire jumps, rope climbs, and our fan-favorite, sky-scraping waterslide, Accelerator 3.0.” If you want more specifics on the types of obstacles you could encounter on Rugged Maniac, click here! If you are an OCR enthusiast, you will see a great mix of typical and original obstacles. Personally, I’m looking forward to trying out some of the new obstacles . . . which are still a bit of a mystery, as there are no photos yet. Actually, I have a mix of excitement and nervousness, but I always have a great time at these events.
If running an obstacle course race isn’t enough to convince you, Rugged Maniac also offers an after party complete with DJ, vendors, games, food, and beer.
What else do you get with your entry? A t-shirt, finisher medal (that doubles as a bottle opener), free race photos, and a free post-race beer.
