Halfway to Everywhere: A preview of the 2022 Halfway Half Marathon & 10k

You gotta love the small races. There’s a charm to the intimate setting that you really can’t get with the “big” races. This year, support a smaller race that will really make a local difference by registering for the 2022 Halfway Half Marathon & 10k. This race is a senior project for Caleb Brown with the goal of adding a rubberized surface to the track at Pine Eagle High School.  The current asphalt track is in dire need of remodel.

This race will be held on May 1st at 8:00AM and will start at the old Richland Grade School. The 10k distance will finish at the top of the grade and all the half marathon finishers will finish on the track at Pine Eagle High School in Halfway, OR, the very same track you’re trying to upgrade!  Both runners and walkers (as well as teams!) are welcome to join in the fun so you can truly make this a family affair.

The cost for this race is very affordable and for a good cause on top of that. As it is a fundraiser, you know your money will not go to waste. The half marathon is $50 for adults and only $25 for youth and seniors. The 10k is $40 for adults and $25 for youth and adults. There’s also a family package option, so if you have a team of 4 to 6 people, you can pay just $75. If you want to register a group of 7 people or more, you can email Eric  at and he’ll get it all set up for you. There’s a service you won’t get with one of those huge races!!

There is bus transportation available to the start if needed. There will be finisher medals and technical T-shirts available not to mention some post-race refreshments. You’ll deserve them after the 1,765 foot ascent up that hill or the 1,110 foot descent. The view will be worth it. Right…?
