Running Upstream at the 2022 Salmon Run

One of the oldest organized races in Central Oregon, The 2022 Salmon Run is celebrating its 32nd annual year and is benefitting The Giving Plate, a grassroots food pantry. The Salmon Run has always been about the local salmon migration and the education of the locals about the journey the salmon must make each year during this season. The race organizers can honestly boast that this is usually one of the first half marathons of the year on this side of the mountains, while also offering a 10K and 5K distance as well as the Little Fry Run for kiddos ages 3 to 10 years old.

This year’s event is once again put on by the great people at Lay It Out Events, who are responsible for a few popular races and events in Central Oregon.

The race this year will have a whole new course! Check it out here. The course will still showcase some beautiful scenery along the river. Following the 3 main events, the Little Fry Run mentioned above will follow so that all the little runners out there will get their chance as well.
