2022 Cinco de Mayo races return with a new fiesta location

This particular set of races put on by Terrapin Events is celebrating quite the milestone this year. Scheduled for Saturday, April 30th, the Cinco de Mayo events have a new location in Milwaukie at the Elks Lodge. New location means new courses, which are promised to be flat with it leading along the Trolley Trail. Registration is still open, but time is running out.

As stated above, the races are on Saturday the 30th. The fun starts with the kids half miler at 8:45 followed by the half at 9am. The 10K and 5k start at 390 and 945, respectively.  The event is chip timed and all participants can sign up to receive different items:

  • Option one – Runners receive finishers medals, shirts, and free beer from New Belgium Brewing.
  • Option two – Race bib and free beer from New Belgium Brewing.
  • Option three – virtual with shirt, medal, and bib

Post race fun includes a variety of vendors, food, beer and live music.

As always, opting for a pre event packet pick up option will reduce the hassle and number of lines on race morning. There are two options, both at Road Runner Sports on 23rd in Portland. On both the 28th and 29th, you can get it from 11 am to 6 pm.

So if you are looking for a good time and possibly a fast time in May. the Cinco de Mayo races might be the place to be. The new location by OMSI is unique and also offers some post race entertainment, and the many perks make this a race worth attending.
