On Thanksgiving day, at Maurie Jacobs Park in Eugene, Oregon, you can get in some excellent pre-Thanksgiving dinner exercise. The Turkey Trot Eugene, hosted by Level 32 Racing, is a wonderful holiday 5K for a good cause.
The course takes racers on a beautiful tour on Ruth Bascom trail network in the Alton Baker Park area. Many sections of the course are along the Willamette River and have great views, then runners will finish with a loop around the duck pond in the park. The course has minimal elevation gain and is open to runners and walkers of all fitness levels. Unfortunately, though, dogs are not allowed on course.
Don’t forget to bring some dry food and canned food donations for the race beneficiary! You can drop these off at FOOD For Lane County in advance, or bring to the event on race day.
