The scariest part of a horror movie is the waiting for the monster to appear. Waiting in the dark, listening to your breath, and wondering which way the attack is coming from. I think this waiting to freak out is exactly the fright that Scary Run is aiming for on their website.
This race is a fun, costume-themed run/walk. Although titled ‘Scary Run’ your costume doesn’t need to be scary. Be creative and dress in any costume you like as long as you can comfortably and safely run and walk. Feel free to get together with friends and come up with a fun costume theme.
The ‘Scary’ component will surface while you are running along the course and should guarantee some solid personal bests!
On October 31st, aka Halloween, Why Racing Events is putting on their 6th annual Scary Run starting at Reflection Plaza in Washougal, Washington. Course options include half marathon, 10K, and 5K distances. Participants are encouraged to dress up in costumes and make a great morning of it. Check out their video to see costumes from 2019. With kids 12 and under participating in the 5K for FREE, this is definitely a fun for the whole family event.
At the finish line, walkers and runners will earn their shiny new medal. Images of race swag will be online soon so you can see all your future bling.
After the race, can someone please let me know what the scary component is? You’ll find me hiding under a pile of fuzzy blankets.
