Who doesn’t run on Thanksgiving Day morning? I’ve been told Thanksgiving Day is the most ran day of the year. With so many small Turkey Trots going on, it’s definitely a great day to take the whole family out for a 5k.
One race taking place this Thursday is the 9th Annual Newport Turkey Trot sponsored by Artic Circle. The race is prepared for social distancing and is following health guidelines for safety. There will only be a 5k race and walk this year and will be limited to the first 230 runners. This year will require a wave start to help limit physical contact and face masks will be required at the start and finish line area. Please note that there will be no aid stations on the course so bring your own water as needed.
Register: $35.00 for the 5k walk/run
You can also sign up for the same price to run the race virtually 5k, 10k and half marathon.
By running this race in person or virtually, you will be supporting Food Share of Lincoln County. Thanks for making a difference and we hope to see you on Thanksgiving Day morning.
Meet at the Port of Newport Marina (2120 SE Marina Science Drive, South Beach. 5k walk 9:15 and 5k race will be at 10:15.
