Uberthons 2020 Virtual Race (anywhere you live)

Over the last several years I’ve made so many wonderful memories running at Uberthons events, from 5k’s to full marathons. My very favorite is the Uberthons Half Series. One half marathon each season of the year. The events are family friendly, ending with food and fun. The 5k races always offer a free kids race, bringing such a fun time for families to come out and be active together.

This time in history, unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that all races have been canceled…including Boston! If you are anything like me, you are still running, but keeping motivated is somewhat of a challenge. I had race after race, one by one get canceled. Race directors have gotten creative, finding ways to keep afloat and keep runners moving forward.

Uberthons offers a nice virtual option going on right now. You can choose one of three events, all with different medals. You can also choose to do all three events, receiving all three medals for a discounted price. These three events can be run by yourself, with your own group at any time that is convenient for you. After you register, pick your distance, run, then submit your results to the event leader-board. Don’t forget a quick fun photo to post with your race experience. This isn’t only fun, but it helps encourage other runners or folks that are thinking about taking up running themselves.

About Julie Mullins (93 Articles)
I am a 41 year-old runner from Dallas, OR. I am married to Jerry (also a runner) and we have three kids (one who will run with us on occasion). I work full time at West Valley Hospital/Salem Health and run as often as I can. I ran in High school but as an adult, started running in 2008. Since then, I have completed 13 full marathons, numerous 5k, 10ks and 15k. I've run two Ultras and just completed my 31st half marathon. My goal is the get my BQ in 2018 at Eugene Marathon! (Pinch me, I DID IT!!!) I also organize a local running group called ZaoFit (on facebook). I LOVE running with others - it is what keeps me motivated to stay consistent, and to keep dreaming big.
