Race Preview: 2019 Friendsgiving Half / 10K / 5K (Springfield)

Take a break from eating and continue opting outside with the 2019 Friendsgiving, hosted by our friends at Pink Buffalo Racing! The Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 30th, this event lets you choose between a half marathon, 10K, or 5K distance along the Mill Race path, which offers participants great views of the Willamette River!

All of the courses are 100% paved and while not considered hilly, they are also not pancake flat either. You can see course descriptions and maps here.

Each race distance will have aid stations on course: 5 for the half marathon, 2 for the 10K, and 1 for the 5K. Aid stations will have water, Gatorade, and first aid (the half marathon aid stations will also have gels and snacks). All distances will also be chip timed by Eclectic Edge Racing.

Medals will be given for all half marathon participants and for the top three male and female finishers in each age category. The post-race grub will include grilled cheese sandwiches by Franz Bakery, Umpqua Dairy chocolate milk, beer garden, Track Town Pizza, and more! This is also a family friendly race, and strollers are permitted during the race, however, 4-legged family members must stay home.

For more information about drop bags, time limits, parking, shirt sneak peeks, etc. check out the race website and Facebook page!
