If you’ve ever spent any time in Bend, you may have run or hiked parts of the well known Deschutes River Trail, that follows the Deschutes River. The trail is well known for its views of Benham Falls, Dillon Falls, Big Eddy, the lava flow of Lava Butte, and an abundance of nature. It is one of those quintessential places in Bend that is always worth a visit.
And if you’re thinking of visiting soon, there is a super fun trail race that takes in all of the well known views, while providing a downhill race from start to finish! DRT11 is an 11 mile trail race that is 100% single track, features a couple of worthy rocky sections, follows the river, and finishes at LOGE Entrada Hotel in Bend, where famed runner Max King will be tending to the BBQ for all finishers. Read about our stay at LOGE Entrada here!
This race is cupless, so come prepared. There will be 2 aid stations along the way, stocked with goodies. Also, come prepared for the weather. Bend has seen snow in early October, but also seen 80 degree days. It’s wise to layer up and be ready!
