Race Preview: 2019 Beaverton Half Marathon/10k/5k

If you’re sick of having to go to downtown Portland for so many races, there’s a great local option for those of us in the ‘burbs. The 2019 Beaverton Half Marathon/10k/5k is now in it’s second year, and it’s got all the usual perks of being a Run With Paula event!!

September is my personal favorite month to run, and this years Beaverton Half Marathon, (or BHM, as it’s referred to for those in the know!) will be on September 22nd. Come out to Portland Running Company (Beaverton location) and let them pamper you with pre-race coffee, bagels, and Dave’s Killer Bread snacks before sending you off to run. You’ll run through the streets and trails of Beaverton (as shown on the course maps and descriptions here) and you’ll get a full 4 hours to meander along before the course closes. Early walkers can take off at 7:00AM and half and 10k runners will leave at 8:00AM. 5k participants will follow shortly after at 8:15AM.

Run With Paula events are always well marked and organized, so you shouldn’t have anything to worry about on race day. Not only will you get a stellar race, you’ll get a great celebration at the end too. After you arrive back at Portland Running Company, you’ll be treated with music, food, and other goodies. Jersey Mike’s Sub Sandwiches will be there, as well as Rogue with their beer garden.

All participants for the race this year will get a Brooks Podium Tech t-shirt, a finisher’s medal, a 15% off coupon for PRC, and a meal and beer for after the race! Award winners in the top 3 will get pint glasses.

If you didn’t make it last year to this fun event, here’s your chance this year!!
