Don’t miss out on the only fall trail run in Eastern Oregon: the Echo Sage Trail Run. This race includes a 5K and a 10K that begin at the foothills of the Blue Mountains close to the Umatilla River and the Oregon Trail. Run on private farmland, the Echo West Ranch and Vineyard, the trails are open to the public throughout the year for hiking and biking (and running!) Due to the working sheep dogs on the property, the owners do request no dogs.
This trail run is coordinated by the Eastern Oregon Women for Agriculture and all proceeds from the event go to a scholarship fund for the Eastern Chapter of this association.
Echo is a small town not far off of I-84, between Pendleton and Boardman, with a population of just over 700. At the Echo Sage Trail Run, you’re sure to experience the small town charm and welcoming feel that Eastern Oregon holds. After the race head into the city of Echo to visit the Sno Road Winery – the winery of the property owners – to say thanks and check out the fruits of their labor.
