Race Preview: 2019 Three Corners Rock PCT 50k (Carson, WA)

The Pacific Crest Trail, also known as the PCT, is one of the most beautiful places in the Pacific NW. The point to point 2019 Three Corner Rock PCT 50k in Carson, WA starts at the Whistle Punk trailhead in Carson, WA and finishes in North Bonneville. Proceeds benefit the Stevenson High School Cross Country team.

This race is sponsored by the Columbia Gorge Running Club and it was previously known as PCT Bunker to Bonneville 50k. It will occur this summer on August 31st and will treat runners to about 30 miles of the southbound PCT. There will be a small jaunt out to three Corners Rock at mile 18 to enjoy the views of the Cascade Range. It will not be an easy race, (as many trail races aren’t!) and the terrain will offer everything from soft, forgiving surfaces to rocky creek beds. Expect trails, roads, and bike paths.

There are going to be 5 aid stations out on the course with an unofficial station at the Trout Creek bridge around mile 1.9 miles with only water and electrolyte drink. The official aid stations will have Taos Mountain Energy bars, Trail Butter, and the usual ultra fair such as fruit and chips as well as water and electrolyte drink. This is a cupless race, so please be sure to bring your own drinking vessel. Drop bags will be allowed and transported to Aid Station 2 and bags brought to the start will be brought to the finish as well. The course is remote and not easily accessible, so no pacers or crew will be allowed. Check out more course details here.

Runners need to make it to Three Corner Rock by the 6 hour mark, and the finishing cut off time will be 10 hours total. Walking Man Beer and La Gula Mexican food will be available at the finish.
