Race Preview: 2019 Timberjack 100K/30K (Bend)

15C45473-5F7E-4BD9-A602-B4245B7E567EMost anyone who runs trails knows that Bend is a Mecca, of sorts, when it comes to primo places to run and race. Out toward Mt Bachelor, and throughout the Cascade Lakes area, there are miles and miles of trails to lose yourself in, including some popular routes that meander near and along the Deschutes River. One such set of trails, called Tiddlywinks (I’m not making that up, I swear), makes up the entirety of a new race course, called The Timberjack.

The Timberjack offers 2 distances; the 30K or the 100K. The 30K is a single loop with a little over 2,000 feet of gain. The 100K is a multi-loop course. Runners will complete a 10K loop first, before completing the 30K loop 3 times, all while gaining more than 6,500 feet. Both race distances are USATF sanctioned, and the 100K is a UTMB qualifying race worth 3 points.

When: Saturday, August 24th. 100K starts at 6am. 30K starts at 8:30am.

Cost/Register: The 30K = $75.00. The 100K = $145.00. Register at UltraSignup.
