Race Preview: 2019 Eugene Brews Cruise 5K

The Eugene Brews Cruise 5K is a great event for folks who want to try out several different adventures in one great Labor Day. And with that day starting at noon, you could even sleep in beforehand.

The 5K race starts at the old Whiteaker School and uses an out-and-back route. The course uses a bike path so you’ll get lovely views of Willamette River, Delta Ponds, Greenway Bridge, and Delta Highway Bridge. Runners and walkers are welcome. And lower prices encourage youths and seniors to get involved.

The next adventure for your day is of course the after party at Hop Valley Brewing Company. The 21-and-over crowd will need to get their ID checked before enjoying hoppy beverages, but there will be celebratory options for everyone who ran, walked, or cheered at the race. With medallion awards for the top three in each age groups, and age groups broken up into 5-year brackets, there will be lots to celebrate.

Your last potential adventure for this event is to join in for a ride on the Pacific Pub Cycle. Riders will have the chance to win a free tour on a future date. The winner will be announced at the after-party so be sure to stick around.
