Helix, OR is hosting the 2019 Heart of the Country Fun Run/Walk on June 8th this year, and this race will help fund improvements to Helix Park after an unfortunate flood ruined much of it. This is a great way to celebrate the community and to offer your support.
Check in for this 5k/10k/1 Mile Fun Run/Walk will begin at 7:00AM with the run beginning at 8:00AM. The Helix School Wood Shop is making the beautiful trophies for the age category winners and the t-shirts are currently being designed by The Helix Track and Cross Country Team. The team will also be volunteering at the race, so be sure to wave hello in the parking lot and at the water stations.
The Andraes Kitchen food truck will be there to satisfy your belly. The Helix Pub will also be open from 9:00AM to 12:00PM and rumor has it that biscuits and gravy will be an option. And who doesn’t love a good mimosa or Bloody Mary to celebrate a good run?
The Helix Community Days will be going on the same day as the race, so feel free to bring a dish to share for the potluck. The pool will be open too! Following the race, there will be games and relay events for the kids. There’s even a car wash hosted by Helix Volleyball Team at City Hall.
