Dress Like a Man: Underwear 9.0 – featuring BN3TH

IMG-2031

Those of you who have been reading this blog for a while, know that I have a little bit of a “thing” for men’s underwear. In fact, there was a time where I was reviewing men’s underwear on a monthly (or even bi-weekly) basis for a bit. It’s been a while, but I am back with version 9.0 – featuring BN3TH.

BN3TH is a confusing word to spell, but simply sounds like the proper spelling; ‘beneath’. But there’s nothing really complex about the brand – which aims to showcase the equation that Increased Comfort = Increased Performance. I personally agree to this testament, as I know that being uncomfortable on a long run (or any run for that matter) can really get in the way and even overshadow results. So BN3TH goes out of their way to ensure that they are doing good work all across the board – from sustainability to comfort to design and beyond.

We were sent a handful of options from their underwear line to showcase.

Classic

The first thing to notice about at least one pair of these is – WOW, does it ever pop. The Horizon Morning brings a bold color scheme and design (the print has me wishing for warmer days) to couple with the classic Anti-Chafing underwear that BN3TH brings to the table. If you are looking for something a little more straightforward, they have “normal” color schemes as well.

This classic and best selling style is constructed with a super Tencel fabric (I have multiple pairs with this fabric and I agree it’s very welcoming), and their “MyPakage Pouch Technology”. It’s sort of a silly name, but really knocks it out of the park in the comfort department. Without getting too much into the more graphic details, it allows the “stuff” some room away from the body to breathe and not be compressed all day long.

I also liked how these did not lower when I sat down, as some pairs tend to do. The knitted waistband kept things in place and I have had no issues with wedging or chafing in any capacity – a testament to their quality.

Entourage

If there’s anything I’d rather not hear is wearing recycled underwear. However, when we are talking about “real” recycling (and not just using someone’s previous pairs), it makes things a lot better. The Entourage is 100% post-consumer recycled polyester and the designs in this pod are collaborations. In this specific pair, the BN3TH collab is with Lucas Beaufort (artist) x TJ Rogers (skater), and thus designed with art and performance in mind. It remains moisture-wicking and definitely has a thicker waistband – I’m assuming to provide a little more security around the waistline. It’s a very solid and nice pair.

Pro 2.0

The 2.0 in the name is more of a “2-in-1” of comfort and functionality. I have found that this pit stays put nicely during runs (i.e. don’t ride up) and the moisture-wicking fabric is a clear bonus. Add that to the fact that they are much softer than most/all of my other compression shorts and I have started utilizing them in replacement on runs where I am wearing non-liner running bottoms.

Infinite XT2

Out of all the ones I tested by BN3TH, I think the Infinite XT2 may have would up being my favorite. It comes with the same nice pouch, but the real kicker is from their “XT2 Silver Technology” which makes it so odors are non-existent.

All that technology would be fine on it’s own, but the fact that it is still soft and comfortable make it an all around win in my book.

I also love that BN3TH is committed to sustainability. Their packaging is all 100% recyclable and they have eliminated all single-use plastics – instead sending their Sleepwear, Tees, 2 IN 1’s, Merino Wool and Joggers in repurposable mesh laundry bags, that can then be used for just about anything!
