Small Race Preview: 2019 SW Hope 5K (Portland)

For those who love to race for a good cause, the SW Hope 5K is a great one to sign up for. Held on April 6th, 2019, at Gabriel Park in SW Portland. Racers can run, walk or even stroll through this family friendly 5K. Come join other racers in the fourth annual SW Hope Feed the Hungry 5K.
Participating in this event provides the community with food, with a race moto of “We run, so our neighbors don’t have to go hungry.” The course is ran through Gabriel Park, and is a very quick course. I have run in this event for several years, and it never disappoints. After the race, participants will have the opportunity to get snacks from different booths. There is also awards for the fastest racers, and even a raffle.

Neighborhood House, has been around since 1905, and has worked hard to help those in need, specifically low income families. This includes children to senior citizens, who live in the SW Portland area. Neighborhood House has many programs providing food, tangible needs, intangibles and even education.

Bring the whole family to this fun event, race for a good cause and help support the community. They even have a kids race! You will not want to miss this race!
