The AVID Strides for Education Eugene 4J 6K takes place on Sunday, April 7 at 2pm at the School District office, and it raises funds for continuing support of the AVID system and strategies in Eugene’s classrooms. The course of the 6k race is a single loop on bike paths along the river, heading east first and crossing to the north bank over the DeFazio Footbridge, then heading west again and crossing the Greenway Bike Bridge before heading back to the start/finish.
Registration is just $25 for adults and $5 for Eugene School District students. You also have the option to add a donation to make an even bigger impact. Race packet pick-up is available on Friday, April 5 from 2:30 – 5:00 p.m. at the Eugene School District Office, as well as the day of the event, April 7.

South Coast Running Club’s Salmon Creek Run takes place on Saturday, April 6 at 10am. The race starts and ends at the intersection of Hemlock St and 2nd Ave in Powers and takes you on rolling paved and gravel paths throughout the community. Registration is just $25, and it it is free for SCRC members. Since membership is only $20 per year for an individual, it really makes sense to join the club, especially if you’re running more than one race. To help the planners, please register online, regardless of your membership status. Day of race registration is available 8:45-9:45 at an increased rate. Come prepared with your printed registration form.
