Obstacle Course Race Preview: 2019 Dirty Leprechaun 5K (Tualatin)

Attention Obstacle Course Race enthusiasts – here’s your chance for a little pre-season OCR tune-up! The Dirty Leprechaun 5K is back at Lee Farms with some new obstacles promised for this year. Start our your St. Patrick’s Day weekend with 20+ obstacles and plenty of mud. Expect to run, slide, slip, and slog through the mud on this one. Just don’t lose a shoe! (Yes, I have seen it happen and have come close to losing mine!) You’ll also have the opportunity to challenge yourself with some obstacles like tires, walls, ropes, teeter totters, hay bales, and more. If a 5K isn’t enough, you can purchase an “unlimited run pass” and enjoy the course over and over in all its mud-filled glory!

In addition to the 5K, there is also a kids’ 1.1 mile obstacle challenge, so bring the kids along and let them play in the mud, too! They are sure to love it almost as much as you will.

Afterwards you can purchase a hot shower ($5) and change into clean clothes, or just hang out around one of the bonfires and enjoy your free beer or cider and listen to music while you sport your very evident badge of honor – mud! And that finisher’s medal and a t-shirt (if registered by the shirt deadline).

Parking is very limited at Lee Farms, so you can either purchase a parking pass for $10 and park at Lee Farms (supply is limited), or park for free at Legacy Medical Group and ride the free shuttle to and from the race venue.

Whether you are a first-time obstacle course racer or a veteran, this event is for you. Newbies – this is a great opportunity to try out a few obstacles without the pressure of penalties if you are unable to complete an obstacle. And, it is perfectly acceptable to ask for help out on the course. Veterans, this is a great tune-up before the season begins in earnest. This event will give you the opportunity to work on speed (until you hit that brutal mud-pit) and fine-tuning your skills. So, what’s stopping you? Get yourself registered and prepare for a day of fun!
