Beer flavored GU? The newest flavor from GU Energy Labs is Hoppy Trails

At Outdoor Retailer 2018, GU Energy Labs released a new unique flavor to be released to the masses in March 2019 and the flavor profile is something that this beer-drinking runner can get behind. Hoppy Trails is designed to be like “having a beer before the finish line”, and we recently were sent a couple samples to try out. It has a mildly bitter taste profile and I found it legitimately tasted like hops. There is a sweeter citrusy bite to it as well, so it’s not completely like a plasmatic-hop bomb. While I actually enjoyed this, I’m not sure it would be the only thing I’d have in my arsenal. However, it does provide something a little different to break from some monotony.

There are rumors that 10% of the sales for this flavor will go towards a fund that people can apply for to support local causes, so this will be one to be on the lookout for.
