Sometimes great things come to those who wait. And The Rogue Run this October promises to be one of those times. Originally scheduled for September, race directors had to reschedule the event due to local forest fires. But clear skies area ahead for the marathon, half marathon, and 10K participants on Saturday, October 13th.

The Rogue Run is a unique set of races in that they point-to-point events; runners and walkers ride a shuttle bus from the Jackson County Harvest Fair and Microbrew Festival. Don’t worry. You’ll be back before the festival closes. They are also unique in that each distance starts in a different town: the marathon in Ashland, the half marathon in Talent, and the 10K in Medford. Just think of all the places you’ll be able to talk about at the festival after the finish line (see, promised you’d be back).

All participants will be gifted with the goodness of a shirt, aid stations, and a finisher’s medal. But the race also has “the ‘Table of Temptation’ which will have items to challenge your inner-self if you want to push your limits.” Now I have no idea what those temptations will be, but I make have to make a trip to Southern Oregon to find out.
