What Run Oregon is Trying: Velo Saddle

When I purchased my bike in 2010, I didn’t realize it came with a Velo Saddle. Velo makes over 15 million saddles a year and they can be found on all types of bicycles. My favorite saddles are from the Velo Senso line. Some big name athletes ride with Velo, including; Kevin Aiello, Thomas Genon and two time Olympic Gold Medalist Maris Strombergs.

I recently received a saddle from the Velo Senso line, similar to the Sky OW. This saddle is lightweight at only 262 grams, and has 3 points of contact with a Ti Alloy, carbon fiber rail. It is made with a light, high density foam fill and a microfiber cover. It is created specifically for women and comes with a slightly wider base.

I received my saddle in May and was able to train with it all summer. The added comfort, with the wider base, 3 points of contact and high density foam allowed me to increase training times which resulted in faster, more favorable times when competing.

For athletes wishing to increase training times resulting in faster times when competing, I recommend a Velo saddle from the Senso line.
