Returning to Heiser Farms just outside of Dayton, the Run the Dutch 5K is a cross country style race scheduled for June 2nd. With the proceeds going towards various local nonprofits, including the See Ya Later Foundation and the Mendonca Academy of Martial Arts, the $35 registration fee is going to be going towards great causes. Sponsored by Dutch Brothers and Heidi Moore of Country Financial, this family friendly event is always a great time, as I know a few people that have participated in past years.
Heiser Farms is just to the east of Dayton, approximately 30 minutes from Salem and slightly farther from Sherwood. In the midst of rural farmland, next to the river, it is a beautiful place to run. Registration can be done online or at the location starting at 8 am. The $35 entry covers the race and a t shirt. Kids under 14 get to run for free! Also, the first 400 registered will also receive a goodie bag. The race will kick off at 9 am with the after party beginning at 10. For those focused on results, the event is chip timed.
