The Skye is the limit: A Run Oregon review of Skye Mountain Co. headwear (GIVEAWAY)

The Oregon – Red Curved hat from Skye Mountain Co. features a cool image of Haystack Rock contained within an outline of Oregon.

Joe: I love baseball caps. I actually don’t wear them that often, but my love of cool logos, graphics, and insignias has led me to accumulate a large collection of hats. In addition to various favorite sports teams’ caps, current and historic (insert plug for Ebbets Field Flannels here), I also have a number of nice hats from races. And one of my favorite caps is from local Portland outfit Grafletics, a hat whose crown bears a unique logo in the form of an outline of the state of Oregon with basketball seams and texture.

So with that in mind I was excited to check out a great looking cap from a Utah company called Skye Mountain, who, like Grafletics, specialize in custom creative graphic designs applied to hats, T-shirts, and embroidered badges. The varied designs are inspired by the outdoors, geography, and natural landmarks. The hat that caught my eye featured an outline of Oregon with a silhouette of Haystack Rock contained within it. The Oregon – Red Curved hat is a classic snap-back mesh hat with a red crown and bill and contrasting white Oregon design and mesh back. I may not run in a hat like this, but it will certainly become a favorite part of my hat rotation, and I will wear it with pride after races in and out of Oregon!

Julie:  As a runner in Oregon, I always run with either a visor or a hat of some kind.  I like how a hat protects me from the rain, wind and the sun.  It also helps sweat not drop into my eyes and it helps me look stylish! One of my favorite hats to wear is trucker hats with fun designs and logos!

Skye Mountain Co. makes a very stylish trucker hat and I was eager to run in it.  I was especially fond of the Oregon design with Cannon Beaches Haystack Rock on the patch. The black and white design was easy to match up with all my running gear. It was comfortable to run in and I received compliments while wearing my hat.  I do often get headaches if a hat doesn’t fit properly.  This cool design didn’t give me any headaches. I will definitely be wearing this hat more and it was a nice addition to my collection.

More about Skye Mountain:

We’re a husband and wife duo, that have a love for anything outdoors and obviously hats (except for family pictures of course). Those two loves combined brought about Skye Mountain Co. named after our little girl, our first love.

How we got here:

Alex loves any excuse to keep his hats on. He eats, plays, works and basically sleeps in them. He always felt he was unable to find comfortable hats, with simple styles (like him). So why not start designing his own. With endless sketches and ideas, we combined the outdoors, things we love, and BEAUTIFUL PLACES ALL OVER THE WORLD that we feel some of the best adventures await.

We hope you’ll love the variety and unique look of our hats, but most of all the comfort of each hat as you take Skye Mountain along for the ride.

Thank you for supporting our little family!

‘Leave the road and take the trail!
