Race Preview: 2018 Run Mama Run (Portland)

Mother’s Day is right around the corner and what better way to celebrate and kick off the weekend than with a race that supports a fantastic cause? Run Mama Run is celebrating its 10th year this year and will be going to support an incredibly important cause, Mother & Child Education Center.

Mother & Child Education Center is a local and amazing non-profit that supports pregnant and moms with young infants through education, resources and support. There is no demographic or income level requirements for Mother & Child Education Center and their goal is to build confident and competent parents. This organization is truly special.

Run Mama Run offers a Kid’s Race and a 5K and 10K option for adults and the course goes around Mt. Tabor Park, so be prepared for hills! Each runner will receive a Run Mama Run shirt, which is so cute! And if you don’t want to run but you want this awesome shirt you can register as “Sleep Mama Sleep” and still support Mother & Child Education Center and get a shirt!

After the race Franz Bakery will be out with free grilled cheese bites and loaves of bread for donations to Mother & Child. You can also stay after the race and get active with the awesome moms of Baby Boot Camp! They will be leading you through a cool down and will be checking anyone that wants to be, for Diastasis Recti (abdominal seperation) as well as talking to moms about mom community, postpartum safe exercises and more!
