Now in it’s 42nd year, the Lake Run put on by the Lake Oswego Women’s Club is known for its hilly terrain, great views and is the club’s biggest fundraiser of the year! All proceeds will benefit Annie Ross House, the only family emergency shelter in Clackamas County. The 2018 Lake Run will feature a 10K run, 5K run/walk, kid’s dash and the ever-popular Family Fun Festival all day long!
If you are wanting to run around the Lake, you will want to choose the 10K which starts with a climb up McVey Avenue and then proceed along South Shore Boulevard and then the sprint to the finish will be all down hill. The 5K run/walk is much more casual and less hilly as it meanders around the lake and up to a very nice viewpoint before heading down hill to the finish line. The Kid’s Dash will be a quick two block dash under the finish line arches and receive a medal!
After the races, hang out at the Family Fun Festival, complete with a DJ, face-painting and crafts for the kids. Stroll through exhibitor booths and visit nearby restaurants for a quick beverage or snack. Don’t forget about the awards ceremony at 10:30am – awards will be given to overall winners of the races as well as age group winners.
For 2018 there is also an incentive to get kids more active by having junior high, middle and high school students enter their school’s name when they register for their event. The school with the most number of participants will win an ice cream party!
All race registrations made by April 30th include a T-shirt so sign up early! You can’t go wrong with this race, it’s got something for everyone!
