Mmm, sausages. Topping my food list and right below tacos (#1 spot), is sausages- especially with either sauerkraut or savory lima beans. Or, I mean just a sausage with some good mustard works too! Needless to say, apparently I have been missing out on the Mt. Angel Wurst Run that has been going on for several years now – you get to run AND you get a feast of sausages at the end! How can you go wrong! Mmm!
The Wurst Run 5k and 10k, presented by race|NORTHWEST, provides plenty of challenges for both new and experienced runners. The 5k is open to both runners and walkers while the 10k is open to runners only. On the 5k course, the first 2 miles include hills around through the city of Mt Angel. The 10k course has some hills in the first mile and then it’s fairly flat on country roads surrounding the Mt Angel Abbey and Mt Angel area – you’ll get to enjoy great views of nature and local farms. Both races include a downhill mile to the finish line at the Mt. Angel Wurstfest.
The Wurstfest is celebrating its 10 year anniversary and has live German music and plentiful German food and beers. This event is very family friendly so bring the whole family with you for the race and after party! Race entry fee includes entry to the Wurstfest, Bierstein/Pintglass (for those over 21) and complimentary beverage (beer or wine for those over 21) or a soda.
Run a race, eat some sausage, drink some beer, dance around! Woo!
