Race Preview: 2017 Florence Half Marathon

Run Oregon loves running and racing in new locations. Known for sand dunes and sea lions, the coastal town of Florence, Oregon is a great place to spend a fun weekend.  When combined with a race, it becomes a stellar weekend!  The Florence Half Marathon, put on by Pink Buffalo Racing and sponsored by a host of local businesses, will take place in late September in this scenic location.

The course will start just west of the 101 and be an out-and-back on some city streets and briefly into Harbor Vista County Park . The course will hit parallel the Suislaw River at times and will have some really scenic sections where the river is between runners and the sand dunes.  There will be six aid stations along the way, as well as bathrooms located at miles 1.5, 5.5 and 11.5.

The race is chip timed and all racers will receive a medal at the finish line!  After the race, feel free to enjoy the area at your leisure as there will not be an awards ceremony. Say hello to the sea lions for us!
