Can you believe summer is almost over?! Enjoy the last “official” weekend with fellow runners and walkers by participating in the Oregon Road Runners Club’s 4th annual Greenway Trail Trial 10k on Labor Day.
Last year, around 300 hundred runners and walkers raced to beat the cloc
k in this time-trial style event. The course is a fast and flat out and back (and out and back, and out and back) that has heats of 5 or less individuals starting anytime between 8:30 am and 1030 am. This is one of those races where you can sleep in a bit, and still get a workout in! Just make sure that if you decide to start at a later time, that you can complete the course by 11:30 am.
This course is beautiful, with scenic natural wetlands. Some parts of the path are shaded and many parts will provide ample sun-all perfect for either for a day that’s rain or shine. Greenway park has several play structures and picnic tables throughout, so pack a lunch to enjoy with neighbors and friends post race. I hope to see you there! I’ll be at the main aid station handing out water and cheering on participants. If you’d like to join me in volunteering, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the sign up page and register for a position. Did you know you can receive entry to an ORRC race for volunteering? It’s true!
This event is the second to last in ORRC’s 10K series. To learn more about the series and register for next year, visit ORRC’s webpage. *You don’t have to be a member of ORRC or the 10K series to run or walk this event.
