Race season is in full swing, and there are a lot of options for small races coming up around Mother’s Day. If you are looking for one that really benefits families and is fun for the kids as well as the adults, the 15th Annual CARDV Mother’s Day Run/Walk for Safe Families on May 13th in Corvallis should fit the bill.
This race benefit a great cause, as all proceeds from the race will benefit the Center Against Rape and Domestic Violence. The money raised will help fund CARDV’s shelter program, advocacy services to domestic and sexual violence victims, and their community education program.
There are a few options, depending on what you are looking for on race day. There’s a family-friendly 5k Run/Walk as well as a Fun Walk option where you can walk one or two miles. Strollers are welcome on the walking courses, so bring baby along! Even better, there’s a race for the kiddos to participate in and all child participants will receive a participation ribbon and some snacks.
The whole family will enjoy the Family Fun Fair where they have the opportunity to win some prizes and to kick back and listen to some live music.
